In a span of twelve days Carrie Schmitt gave birth to someone else's child and lost her own.
Child loss is never an easy conversation. It's often uncomfortable, but we can't just ignore it like it doesn't exist because it does. On this episode I talk with a mom who lost her son only two and a half years ago. Her story is hard, but she is doing the work necessary to help her family, her self, and other people affected by child loss. We talk about what it's like to be a sibling grieving the loss of your sibling and why therapy is so important to help process those feelings. We talk about the importance of self care and what that may or may not look like for you. We also talk about marriage and the how we can help our spouses when they are heart broken after losing a child.
